Pastels are characterized by having a vibrant yellow and black pattern rather than brown and black. They have green eyes, and clear bellies. As babies they have purple heads, it very easy to tell a pastel hatchling from a normal by the purple nose. There are various lines of pastel that display slightly different traits, Graziani, Lemons, Bell are the ones that come to mind. All of them when crossed to each other produce super pastels though. The only line of pastel that I’m not sure whether it is compatible is the Enchi pastel which seems to be both a pattern and color mutation. I don’t know if anyone has tried crossing it with other pastels as very few people own them. |
